So, you’ve stumbled onto my humble little blog. Perhaps you are a Millenial wondering why most of your friends aren’t fully employed. Or wondering why ObamaKare is being shoved down your throat. Or why your generation is on the hook for a national debt that stands at $17 $18 Trillion and counting. Maybe you are scratching your head wondering why your President thinks Global Warming the weather is more worrisome than Islamic Terror. And perhaps you’ve started to become aware there might be something the corrupt and biased lame stream media isn’t telling you. The answer, to these and other existential questions, is ... the Left - specifically, the modern American Progressive. Think of this site as a portal to a richer understanding of this answer, a portal purposely designed with a consciously cock-eyed bent to keep it entertaining. Because the First Amendment is forever and the Internet never forgets. (Plus you better figure out FICA isn't the name of a Swedish bikini model, before she eats your entire paycheck.)

How to use the portal? You could dive into my archive*. I was most active here 2010-2012, but that matters not. How many times do I need to demonstrate the central point? To wit, the political / ideological Left is a menace to the constitutional republic and must be resisted lest the American experiment in liberty devolve into socialist dystopia. If it's the more pointed hand-to-hand combat of the comment board that whets your appetite, click the 'My Disqus Comments' widget. I continue to visit that world from time to time as a light diversion. Or you could browse through my blog roll. It's a very representative collection of center-right blogs, though hardly exhaustive. I can't do the political / ideology thing 24x7, and you probably can't either. Leave that to the hysterical, talking point chanting, mob agitating, race baiting, election stealing, gaia worshiping, straw man torching, Islamic Terrorist appeasing, organized Left (aka OFA, MSNBC, UAW, SEIU, Think Progress, Media Matters, most of legacy media, the politically correct faculty lounge, anybody who belonged to Journolist, anybody connected to Occupy Wall Street, anything funded by George Soros or Tom Steyer, their paid Internet trolls, and the rest of the usual Team Leftie suspects).

LAS 2011 Review & 2012 Preview (Part 2 of 4)

Part 1 covered domestic conditions.
Part 2 covers foreign affairs.
Part 3 will cover the current electoral situation (probably after the Iowa caucuses).
Part 4 will cover this blog project.

In Part 1, we covered domestic conditions. To quickly summarize: (1) intentionally divisive due entirely to the political tactics of BHO and his corrupt gang of Progressives; (2) standing on the precipice of total chaos due to same. Law and Order will be a big topic next year. 2012 is looking a lot like 1968. That’s the election year that gave us Nixon, btw.

We now turn our attention to the state of foreign affairs with the scandal LAS predicts will become the ‘Watergate’ of 2012. As the following graphic shows, the Fast and Furious scandal has aspects that neatly fit into any / all of the posts in this series. I’m throwing it into the foreign affairs area just because it has Mexico in it. Last time I checked - Mexico is a sovereign foreign nation as we haven’t yet invaded Mexico and made it a territory. For the sake of Law and Order, that is.

This is the Fast and Furious story in a nutshell ... In a politically corrupt effort to score political points around gun control, Eric “My People” Holder’s “Department of Just Us” literally sold military grade automatic weapons to Mexican drug cartels. When this operation was uncovered south of the border, it naturally strained relations will the small part of the Mexican government that is still independent of the drug cartels. But that was the least of it. Eventually – and completely predictably (the truly maddening part!) – American Border Patrol agent Brian Terry was shot dead by one of these weapons. Holder and the rest of his corrupt gang has been stonewalling Brian Terry’s family and the American people on this tragedy ever since. To his credit, the Congressman with investigative jurisdiction, Darrell Issa of California, has been holding Holder’s feet to the fire. The next round of questioning occurs later this month. LAS predicts the confrontation will drive Holder into ever tighter fits of dissembling to avoid accountability for his corruption and incompetence, and this will be his ultimate undoing – maybe even BHO’s.

==

Just as the original genesis for Fast and Furious was this administration’s corrupt domestic politics, the remainder of our foreign affairs review is chock full of situations arising directly from this administration’s domestic political calculus – i.e. pandering to the naïve worldview of its’ Leftist base.

When populist riots erupted in Egypt’s Tahrir Square, Team Leftie misinterpreted events as a grass roots democratic movement – in a country that has no historical experience whatsoever of democracy. Consequently, BHO and Team Leftie actively participated in bringing down a secular dictator who also happened to be an important ally in maintaining stability in that most volatile region. The first couple of rounds of Egyptian “elections” have yielded the result LAS predicted from day one of this diplomatic fiasco – a massive “electoral” victory for fundamental Islamism in Egypt. When BHO and Team Leftie threw Hosni Mubarak under the bus, they effectively threw Israel under the bus with him.

The current state of affairs is a set up for the rise of an Egyptian Islamic Caliphate. The latest turn is more astro-turfed street riots aimed at Egypt’s last remaining stabilizing institution – the Army we have spent 30 years training and arming. Thanks, Barry.

Next, BHO picked a fight with Muammar Ghaddafi, secular dictator of Libya. Once again, naively reading it as an opportunity to use armed force in support of some ill-defined downtrodden and oppressed “peoples”, BHO committed American prestige, treasure, and armed forces to fight on behalf of a loose collection of “rebels” no one could quite identify. His stated rationale was a foolish policy known as “Responsibility to Protect” (R2P) – an open ended blank check to rush in wherever populations are being mistreated by brutal governments. News flash: there are an awful lot of those across the globe - way, way, more than we can possibly police.

BHO was lucky no American blood was spilled. Really lucky, because he unconstitutionally committed US armed forces without so much as a conference call with Congress. (At least Geo. W Bush acquired legislation for both Afghanistan and Iraq). And, of course, Al Qaeda and other Islamic fundamentalists now appear to be enjoying the spoils of victory in Libya. Thanks, Barry.

Now, a secular dictator in Syria is brutally mowing down crowds of civilians with his armed forces. No signs of the Barry admin showing any willingness to invoke R2P here. WTF, Barry? Mubarak was a friend and ally. Ghaddafi was at least neutral with respect to US interests. (Thanks to Geo. W. Bush, TYVM.) Assad is a friend and ally of Iran, and actively involved in waging terrorism against Israel. If there is an argument for engaging any one of these situations, Syria is it. Well, the good news is that at least R2P seems to be thoroughly discredited. That much will be useful in the future.

==

Speaking of BHO’s “inheritance” from Geo. W. Bush we now train our attention on the situations in Iraq and Afghanistan. IMHO, both of these countries are doomed to be under the influence of stronger neighbors ruled by fundamental Islamism in the next stage of their histories.

In Iraq, history will record that Geo. W. Bush started the war, David Petraeus won the war, and Barack Hussein Obama lost the peace.

Whatever went before, President Bush deserves credit for implementing General Petraeus’ “Surge” strategy in Iraq. The immediate result was a military victory not only over Al Qaeda but also various other de-stabilizing proxies of Iran. Through various twists and turns, much heavy lifting by Americans, and much honorably spilled American blood; the end result was a functioning democracy in Iraq. Simply an amazing bestowment to a region of the world otherwise stuck in the 7th Century.

All this nascent democracy needed was sufficient leadership to keep a relatively small contingent of American troops in theatre for the sake of stability. Like the garrisons still in Europe that won the Cold War stand-off with the Soviet Union. Like the garrisons still protecting South Korea from North Korea’s lunatic Kim dynasty. But BHO and his corrupt gang of Progressives weren’t up to the task. They couldn’t negotiate an extension of the Status of Forces agreement, and Iraq is now on its own. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard is consequently making Ramadan 2012 travel plans for Baghdad. BHO is disgracefully claiming a political victory with a so-called promise kept to “end the war.” In fact, he has condemned all of Iraq to Iranian dominance. Thanks, Barry.

Similarly, the Empty Suit Known as Barack Hussein Obama has guaranteed Afghanistan will be under the influence of the Taliban internally, which will in turn enjoy strong ties to its fellow travelers in Iran’s government as well as Pakistan’s security services and government.

BHO "inherited" the perfect set up in Afghanistan - the democracy building and stabilizing influence of a “reach out and kill the enemy when necessary” small garrison. Afghanistan is not Iraq strategically. Afghanistan is a landlocked mountainous region offering no strategic advantage. Iraq, by contrast, literally sits on an important cross-road of civilization (the Tigris-Euphrates river valleys). That’s the fundamental difference. Attempting total military victory in Afghanistan was never the right strategic move. Just ask the Brits or Russians. But still, if you’re going to attempt it, do it right. BHO did it all wrong – ramping up while simultaneously broadcasting to the enemy a date certain for ramping down. Military Science 101 will teach any fool the foolishness of giving your timeline to the enemy. No one on Team Leftie seems to have ever taken Military Science 101, however. They’ve spent all their time in the faculty lounges discussing transgender social and economic justice, or something. Expect the Taliban to be on the rise in Afghanistan next year, as our Army pulls out prematurely.

==

Osama Bin-Laden is anticlimactically dead. BHO dithered for nine months before pulling the trigger on the special forces capabilities he “inherited” from Geo. W. Bush’s administration. Anwar al-Awlaki, technically an American citizen, is also dead by drone capability developed during Geo. W. Bush’s administration. Some of us still have a problem with the concept of Presidents assassinating American citizens without a due process conviction for treason.

The giant elephant in the foreign affairs room for 2012 is Iran, of course. The so-called “Arab Spring” – now clearly becoming the “Islamist Winter” – has but one common denominator for the close observer. The common denominator is an increase in Tehran’s hegemony over the region.

Tehran’s saber rattling in the Strait of Hormuz is but a sign of Tehran feeling its oats for this very reason. From a foreign affairs point of view, Iran is turning out to be the singular cautionary tale of the BHO administration. In 2009, BHO initiated an appeasement policy toward Iran with his “open hand / clenched fist” Cairo speech. This appeasement policy caused him, in 2009, to forego extending any aid to the authentically democratic Green Revolution. (Where was R2P then, Barry?) Iran barreled forward with its nuclear weapons program through 2010 and 2011.

I just heard KT McFarland, Fox News analyst, predict 2012 is the year the question of Iranian nukes will come to a head. I agree. The Iranian Islamic regime – on record as desiring to “wipe Israel off the map” – will either acquire a nuclear capability in 2012 or western civilization will find a way to prevent it.

This brings me to Israel – the only functioning modern democracy in that otherwise God-forsaken region stuck in the 7th Century. Thank God Israel is being run by Benjamin Netanyahu – former special forces operative and all around stand up guy. 2011 was the year his government wisely decided to start acting in its own interest and told Barry’s administration to take a hike. My personal theory – just a theory – is the recent mysterious explosions around Iran’s nuclear weapons production infrastructure are the work of Israel’s Mossad organization. Whether or not this theory holds water – these explosions are certainly in the interest of Israel’s survival, which makes them in the interest of the continuation of western civilization. For Israel, 2012 will be a year of living at defcon one and a half.

I am also in agreement with what I’ve heard KT McFarland recommend as the best strategy for choking Iran off economically. “Drill Baby Drill!” We need to exploit our copious domestic fossil fuel resources to reduce – maybe even nearly eliminate - dependence on Mideast oil. Beginning now. However, the problem is “now” means a heated national argument leading to a historic election in November 2012.

(Shameless plug for the F=M*A theme that has permeated this blog from inception)

The spasmodic street riots that erupted in Greece, the United Kingdom, and other parts of the European Union in 2011 – all foretelling the predictable end game for the socialist welfare state, or any society foolish enough to embrace it – barely even merit mention at this time. We can thank God, I guess, for the temporarily stabilizing force of Germany conquering the rest of Europe with financial loans rather than tanks. Because we here in the USA will be spending the year 2012 deciding for ourselves how much further down the road of socialist moral and financial bankruptcy we will allow ourselves to go.

Sorry “world community”, the USA has had its attention turned inward by its political Left. You’re on your own for 2012. GLWT. See you in 2013 hopefully.

Our Black Guy Didn't Do It

In memoriam for the media's lynching of Herman Cain.

In acknowledgement the charges are still tenuous at best.

In recognition the media may yet feel sufficient guilt to stand down now that they’ve put Herman Cain in his proper place.

While reflecting upon the lessons learned.

And considering the growing scandal rapidly engulfing two other prominent black guys.

LibertyAtStake gives you his latest bumper sticker creation.

Now take the poll!

Update 12/16/2011

I did not fail to notice there was a televised GOP debate in Iowa last night, which lacked the racial diversity that would have been provided by Herman Cain's presence. Obviously a Leftist plot to charge the Republican party with "lily whitism" or something.

Ron Paul shot himself in the foot with a couple of unhinged rants. No second tier candidate scored a knockout punch - unless you count Michelle Bachmann's assist to one of Paul's self inflected wounds. Newt Gingrich once again proved he is the best debater in the room. Mitt Romney once again proved he is the safe prom date.

So, it looks like the general election will require the Ron Paul devotees to get behind someone not named Paul, and the grass roots to choose either the smart guy that can best argue their case even though he's been inside DC for freakin' ever (Newt) or Sir Mitt of RINO. The Establishment - surprise! surprise! - is already rushing to line up behind the guy who's been running for six years solid (Mittens). Man, this politics stuff is complicated.

English-To-English Translation

Fox News reported in its Grapevine segment last evening that Progressive hero and duly elected member of Congress Dennis Kucinich disclaimed giving embarrassingly panderiferous praise to the Syrian thugocrat and dictator Bashar Assad – by claiming the English language publication of his English words was mistranslated!

My immediate reaction … so what? He’s a Leftie, just be glad he didn’t bow to the foreign dictator. But after a moment’s reflection, it gave me an idea for how to treat yesterday’s embarrassingly empty news conference performance by the Empty Suit Known as Barack Hussein Obama. It was empty of useful ideas, empty of leadership, and empty of journalism – but positively bulging (gratuitous shot at RepWeiner) with comedic potential for this blog.

So, making reference to the transcript the Wall Street Journal had the nerve to post on the Intertubes for anyone to see … I give you the English-to-English translation of a number of statements uttered by the Empty Suit Known as Barack Hussein Obama.

==

BHO: The struggles of middle-class families were a big problem long before the recession hit in 2007.
E2E: I think I can still get some mileage out of the ‘Blame Bush’ meme if I’m not as explicit with it.

BHO: Today, our administration is trying to take those steps, so we’re reviewing government regulations so that we can fix any rules in place that are an unnecessary burden on businesses.
E2E: Maybe we can draw attention to a meaningless faculty lounge seminar exercise concerning a few meaningless regs, and thereby divert attention from the fact ObamaCare and EPA regs are pounding business into the ground.

BHO: Right now, Congress could send me a bill that puts construction workers back on the job rebuilding roads and bridges …
E2E: I need the Republicans to make the huge mistake of becoming complicit in the Keynesian stimulus boondoggle, to muddy the waters for the 2012 elections.

BHO: And right now, we could give middle-class families the security of knowing that the tax cut I signed in December will be there for one more year.
E2E: In the debt ceiling negotiations, I will be holding middle class tax rates hostage to my sacred cow of raising taxes on the job producers of the nation.

BHO: But everyone also knows that we’ll need to do more to close the deficit.
E2E: Damn those TEA Partiers.

BHO: And, yes, we’re going to have to tackle spending in the tax code.
E2E: It’s the gub’ments money, and the gub’ment can’t afford for you to take those deductions anymore.

BHO: The tax cuts I’m proposing we get rid of are tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires; tax breaks for oil companies and hedge fund managers and corporate jet owners.
E2E: It’s the gub’ments money, and the gub’ment can’t afford for anyone to be prosperous anymore.

BHO: So the bottom line is this: Any agreement to reduce our deficit is going to require tough decisions and balanced solutions.
E2E: I need to take my third mulligan, because I tossed my first unserious budget when Paul Ryan published his ten year plan, and my second budget is just a ‘framework.’

BHO: Call me naïve, but my expectation is that leaders are going to lead.
E2E: My naïve plan is to demagogue Congressional leaders into doing the heavy lifting while I’m out on the links.

BHO: I, as Commander-in-Chief, have to have difficult conversations with the Pentagon saying, you know what, there’s fat here; we’re going to have to trim it out.
E2E: I, as Community-Agitator-In-Chief, wake up every day salivating at the prospect of gutting the Pentagon budget.

BHO: I don’t think that’s a sustainable position. [On GOP opposition to tax hikes]
E2E: Our internal polling shows we can still win the class warfare argument demagogically.

BHO: You can’t reduce the deficit to the levels that it needs to be reduced without having some revenue in the mix.
E2E: It’s all the gub’ments money.

BHO: [On War Powers Act] And this suddenly becomes the cause célèbre for some folks in Congress? Come on.
E2E: I need to diminish this issue with mockery, like Alinsky taught me, to protect my flank on Impeachment.

BHO: [On Gay marriage] And so I think the combination of what states are doing, what the courts are doing, the actions that we’re taking administratively, all are how the process should work.
E2E: I sure hope it’s never conclusively decided on a pure plebescite, because that’s never gone well for our side.

BHO: and it turns out that the President — I’ve discovered since I’ve been in this office — can’t dictate precisely how this process moves
E2E: Damn those TEA Partiers.

BHO: I think it’s important for us to look at rebuilding our transportation infrastructure in this country.
E2E: Never enough redistribution of other people’s money to unionized construction projects.

BHO: what I think defies common sense would be a notion that we would be shutting down a plant or laying off workers because labor and management can’t come to a sensible agreement. [On NLRB’s tyrannical action against Boeing relocation from a union state to a right to work state]
E2E: We can’t have capitalists freely hooking up with self-interested workers and not have union dues funneled to Democrat politicians.

BHO: [The entire reply to “Admiral McRaven’s testimony before Congress that he was concerned that there wasn’t a clear procedure to be followed if a terrorist were captured alive abroad.”]
E2E: There isn’t one.

BHO: Well, I didn’t use “victory” in my West Point speech, either
E2E: I didn’t sign up for this war time President thing.

BHO: Our work [in Afghanistan] is not done.
E2E: Damn it, I didn’t sign up for this war time President thing!

BHO: around two weeks, a little less than two weeks, we had transitioned where NATO had taken full control of the operation. So promise made, promise kept.
E2E: I’m ‘Leading From Behind’ … because, like I said, I didn’t sign up for this war time President thing!

BHO: He [Ghaddafi] needs to step down. He needs to go.
E2E: I can’t believe the pr*ck has hung on for so long … Damn it, I didn’t sign up for this war time President thing!

BHO: I’m not going to make news on that [personal view of same sex marriage] today.
E2E: Gay lobby still in the bag politically, no need to risk alienating other voters.

BHO: I think that it makes perfect sense for us to take a look at can we extend the payroll tax, for example, an additional year,
E2E: Payroll tax holiday for employees is a really good class warfare pander for me.

BHO: my attorney general has made clear that he certainly would not have ordered gun running to be able to pass through into Mexico
E2E: I’m confident the ‘Fast and Furious’ cover up is in good shape, so far.

BHO: With respect to E-verify, we need comprehensive immigration reform
E2E: I’ve promised the illegal immigration lobby ‘no deal without amnesty’

BHO: it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to comment on the investigation if I don’t — if it’s not yet completed.
E2E: Man, that whole ‘Beer Summit’ thing really sucked.  Don't want to do that again.

BHO: These are bills that Congress ran up.
E2E: I can’t really get away with ‘Blame Bush’ for stuff I signed into law. I don’t think so, anyway.

BHO: This is a matter of Congress going ahead and biting the bullet and making some tough decisions
E2E: I’ve got a full golf calendar and I’ll be ‘leading from behind.’

BHO: And so there’s no point in procrastinating
E2E: I’m gonna be really p*ssed off if I have to cancel a round of golf.

BHO: Well, just like a company like Alcoa, America has got to make some investments.
E2E: Never forget it’s all the gub’ments money.

Does The Road From Cairo To Foggy Bottom Go Through Tehran?

Have you heard? The Empty Suit Known as Barack Hussein Obama gave a major policy speech on Thursday morning, to an audience consisting of the republic’s Department of State diplomats and bureau-weenies. I was unable to catch it in real time – pinned down as I was a mere two Metro stops away, looking after my tiny and insignificant slice of Barry’s dysconomy.

Eventually that afternoon, I had the opportunity to read the text, courtesy of Wall Street Journal Online. I was only able to take out enough time to read it about ¾ of the way through. This initial contact gave me the sense that the speech was a great big nothing-burger, a real “yawner,” which is the speech Heritage’s James Jay Carafano apparently saw in real time.

==

Then during the day, something started happening on my personalized Google home page and my blog roll. This particular something sent me from “yawn” to “wtf?!?” – in the manner an amplifier can be sent from one to eleven simply by turning a knob. Posts from others began appearing that made clear the Empty Suit Known as Barack Hussein Obama had saved the best for last – presuming to instruct Israel it must withdraw to its’ 1967 borders. A more naked abandonment of an ally one could hardly imagine.

This information moved my thinking forward to the sentiment expressed by the following comment I wrote on the Daily Caller site:

Initial Reaction from LAS: (1) Barry voted “present” on “Arab Spring” – if classically liberal democracy miracously emerges, the soaring but empty rhetoric allows him to swoop in and claim Great Man credit, but if (much more likely) Islamist rule emerges the foreign aid proposals just continue the line of pandering started in Cairo; and (2) Barry never misses a chance to throw Israel under the bus. There is toasting happening in official Tehran right now.

==

I was unable to record this comment until 10:08 pm on Thursday because I had some “required fun” to attend earlier that evening – namely a high school band concert, in which my eldest son participated as first chair bassoonist. (The boy can shred a bassoon – let me tell you).

While silently taking in the talented utes’ musical exertions – Gershwin, Mancini, Sousa, and such – I allowed my mind to wander across the landscape of this topic. One of the many connections I made during this period of silent reflection was a new label (as far as I know) for BHO – the Tehranian President – you know, in the spirit of the Manchurian Candidate.

==

The outline for this post really took shape the next morning, when I was driving back into the office, and I heard Chris Plante start his radio show with a bit of grade-A snark implying BHO is in fact the 12th Iman

During the day on Friday, I literally jotted down the outline itself.

==

I mean, really, ask yourself – what has BHO done that is any different than a hypothetical US President secretly working in Tehran’s interests would do?

Kick off term of Office with major speech pandering to the region

Take Palestinian negotiating position on Israeli settlements

Offer no support to democracy protestors demanding regime change in Iran

Turn a blind eye while Iranian Islamist regime builds a nuclear weapons program

Throw Egyptian secular regime under the bus, creating a vacuum Islamists may yet fill

Pursue policies to repeat previous in Libya, Bahrain, Yemen, and Syria

Assassinate UBL - when finally utterly unavoidable

Bend over backwards to give UBL a proper Islamist burial

Take Palestinian negotiating position on Israeli borders

==

And so, I come back to the framework of my ‘Stupid or Treasonous?’ series. The only way to square BHO’s actions with the notion he’s the “smartest guy in the room” is to conclude he is double-dealing.

And if this comment thread on Frank Gaffney’s recent Big Peace article is any indication, the citizenry at large is catching on.

==

But, at least for now, this is not BHO’s top problem. His immediate problem is that Benjamin Netanyahu is in town. Bibi – as his friends call him – is no BHO. Bibi is a stand up guy. Bibi also has the support of a lot of Americans wise enough to stand with the only established democracy in the region. Oh, and an American Presidential candidate, too.  And Bibi has been schooling Barry while in town, with more to come.

Things are really, really, interesting right now ….

Meanwhile in Venezuela

Update 5/22/11

I just managed to catch BHO’s speech to AIPAC in real time – via Fox News. Overall - much better. The pander on commitment to Israeli security appeared genuine, though with this guy who can really tell? The clarification on his Thursday remarks wasn’t bad, though one yearns for a POTUS who doesn’t need to clarify the firestorms he creates so often.

Most importantly, he hit the right note on the only two points that really matter (to the negotiation process, that is): (1) The UN has absolutely no role to play here – it must be a two party agreement between Israelis and Palestinians, and (2) Negotiations are meaningless until the Palestinians formally recognize Israel’s right to exist.

Maybe Bibi slipped Barry a teleprompter draft when they met privately Friday …. ;)

Stupid or Treasonous? (Shootin’ War Edition)

Short musical break to set the mood.  Lyrics linked here.  Story behind lyrics linked here.

==

Now to the point.

Yes, that’s me patting myself on the back. For writing perhaps the most important blog post series in all the history of blog post series’ - my ‘Stupid or Treasonous’ series (2010-01-04, 2010-12-05, 2011-02-26, 2011-03-24).

I’d like to thank my designated foil – The Empty Suit Known as Barack Hussein Obama – for inspiring me to make this post all about me.

It has to be about me – it can’t be about what President WTF is up to in our latest shootin’ war, the one he started in Libya, because it seems no one can figure out that particular Rosetta Stone ….

==

With the ‘Stupid or Treasonous’ series I have been boldly predicting, for five full financial quarters now, the inevitability of impeachment proceedings being brought against the Empty Suit That Occasionally Occupies the White House. Sending the US military on a fool’s errand, into someone else’s shooting war, without so much as a conference call with Congress beforehand, has certainly brought the ‘I’ word to the fore in respectable (congressional) circles of lateThe operative question remains whether BHO’s inevitable impeachment will be due to rank stupidity, outright treason, a combination of both, or we’ll all be so damn fed up we won’t care either way anymore.

Can BHO possibly even be this stupid? He states plainly US policy is that ‘Ghadafi must go.’ Yet he also rules out the use of ground troops, the only reliable means to effectuate regime change known to mankind. The gang of hacks in his administration have fanned out in all directions to tell us that Ghadafi is not a target, yet the President’s policy that he must go is operative; that we will be out in days, yet there is no timeline.

The dizzying swirl of inconsistencies has Verum Serum asking ‘What’s the frequency, Barry?’ Big Lizards is also asking ‘What’s the frequency, Barry?’ Hell, the Speaker of the House is asking ‘What’s the frequency, Barry?’ Nice Deb even wonders if we should be calling the men in white coats to bag President WTF.

Then there’s this distinct possibility: the only way to make sense of it is to connect the dots of which side BHO has come down on in a series of conflicts. That side would consistently be Theocratic Islamists. Right Truth got me started on this angle – the ‘Treasonous’ angle. Have you noticed BHO didn’t lift a finger to help demonstrations against the regime (theocratic Islamists) in Iran, then came down hard against the regime on the side of the Muslim Brotherhood demonstrators in Egypt? Now we have him spending American prestige, treasure, and perhaps even blood (it ain’t over yet) in support of WHO, EXACTLY?

WE DON’T EVEN REALLY KNOW WHO THE LIBYAN REBELS ARE! Liberty Pundits reports Rand Paul, to his credit, has sufficient common sense to ask this primary question.

If we find out, when the next shoe drops, that these Rebels are Radical Islamists and Jihadis – then We The People have every reason to demand our representatives ask serious and deeply troubling questions about where President WTF’s loyalties really lie.

It Ain't a River In Egypt

Whether it’s investigating the very real threat of domestic Jihadism, the ticking time bomb of massive debt at all levels of government, or the obvious need for energy independence – the American Progressive Left doesn’t seem to care at all about solving the actual problems.

Last week Rep. Peter King (NY-3) simply did his job as chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee (WI and IN Fleebaggers could learn a thing or two from that much alone, I think), and held very important hearings on homegrown terrorism being manufactured inside the mosques of a very insular domestic Muslim community. These are congressional hearings that quite literally could prevent things from blowing up and people from dying inside the United States.

How did the Left respond? Well, according to form, actually. The Left tried to change the subject and savage Rep. King’s character and motives.

From ‘Keith Ellison Lied When He Cried’ to ‘Ezra Klein is Amazingly Stupid,' the Left did what it does: obfuscate.

My favorite analysis on the matter was posted at National Review Online.

Exhibit 2 in the case demonstrating the Left’s ‘Head Burying Stupidity’ is their total unwillingness to negotiate with the rest of us in good faith to solve the nation’s crippling government debt crisis.

Their current champion – the Empty Suit Known as Barack Hussein Obama – submitted a laughably unserious 2012 budget proposal, failing to touch even one hair on the chinny, chin, chin of the giant debt troll known as Entitlements. The 2012 budget proposal was an act of abdication by the person who occupies the Oval Office (when not out on the links).

The Left went absolutely apoplectic in Wisconsin when a duly elected legislature and governor attempted to implement transparently communicated campaign promises to close the state’s budget gap. Similar rumblings of Leftist lawlessness have wafted out of Indiana and Ohio. These same rent-a-mobbers will no doubt make their ugly, tyrannical presence known in state capitol after state capitol, and finally in DC, as the budget crisis unfolds. It’s how they “negotiate.” They told you so with their obnoxious chant in Madison - “democracy, this is what it looks like.” (In a pure sense they have a point – republicanism (small r) is so much better at creating prosperous, ordered, civil, societies. Behold pure democracy (small d) in the wild, desperate eyes of the mob.  But I digress.)

The Left is not serious about ‘sharing any sacrifice,’ as rhetorically called for by Barack Hussein Obama. The Left is, however, deadly serious about protecting its piece of the pie. BHO lied when he uttered the words ‘shared sacrifice.’ What he really means is ‘sacrifice for everyone but my Leftist friends.’

==

Finally there’s the issue of energy independence for the republic, and its’ relationship to national security. Again, the Left just doesn’t seem to give a damn.

The Left is against drilling for domestic oil. So much so, BHO was willing to lie about his record on this issue. So much so, BHO prioritized telling this lie over the economic well being of the citizenry of the Gulf Coast region, denied permits to drill in the Gulf.

The Left is against burning coal to generate electricity. But also against the only viable alternative that exists today – nuclear. And, ofcourse, they will gin up their well-funded fear-mongering machine to try to leverage the crisis in Fukushima, Japan to further depress this industry.

[Begin: Rational Thinking Break]

The safety system breakdown at Fukushima is the exception that proves the rule. The only other real examples Leftists can point to are Chernobyl and Three Mile Island.

Chernobyl was a shoddy operation run by a Leftist government (Marxist Communist variety). The number of documented deaths associated with Three Mile Island is zero.

The Fukushima plant was hit by a massive earthquake and monstrous tsunami. That the earthquake did not disable it is a testimony to its hardened design. The tsunami waters finally got it, by flooding lower chambers and preventing access to the systems devoted to emergency cooling. The fact that there is still a chance to get the reaction in the plant mostly contained is a testimony to the professionalism and heroism of its Japanese operators and engineers. Prediction: the doomsday scenarios the Left is hysterically predicting as I write this will prove as specious as the doomsday scenarios they predicted for the Deepwater Horizon spill – you know, in the Gulf where there is no longer any trace of the oil spilled.

LibertyAtStake is here to state emphatically the forty year safety record for the nuclear power industry (outside Communist countries at least) is exemplary. The lessons learned from this experience will result in the industry coming up with solutions to survive an 8.9 earthquake plus gigantic tsunami. That is, if the Left allows even one more plant to be built in its hysterical reaction.

[End: Rational Thinking Break]

The only energy sources the Left is *for* are so-called “renewables” that currently supply about 1% (ONE PERCENT) of our national need, even after 35 years (THIRTY-FIVE YEARS) of subsidies rained upon its crony capitalists by the federal government. That means the Left’s energy policy is *for* your standard of living declining, because their plans will supply you with less energy at a higher price.

Their current champion said so on the campaign trail.

==

So, why all the ‘Head Burying Stupidity’ from the American Progressive Left? The answer is a wicked stew with three prime ingredients.

First, they hate the United States. This is the “Blame America First” crowd. Every ill in the world is your fault, so you must be punished for your sins. Your standard of living (energy non-policy) and your children’s standard of living (debt non-policy) must be reduced as a demonstration of “fairness” to all the world’s victims of American imperialism. You could say this makes the Left “anti-American.”

Second, they travel in packs, both literally (street mobs) and figuratively (criminally biased MSM). For all of their elitist conceit around being intellectually superior to middle Americans, they are the “anti-intellectuals.” The American Progressive Left has organized itself into a highly cohesive propaganda machine to distort, dismiss, and fabricate facts, with a mission to push a pre-determined agenda. What could possibly be more “anti-intellectual?” This propaganda machine is capable of organizing into lawless rent-a-mobs on the street, as we saw in Madison. All with the no longer merely implicit, now totally explicit, support of the political party they hijacked – the party that shall now be known on this blog as the Mobocrats. You could say this makes them “dangerous.”

Third, they are supremely confident in their own self-righteousness. The ultimate holiness of their ends, in their minds, justifies all possible means. (This observation, btw, has been a prime contributor to the construction of this blogging character: LibertyAtStake, the ant-Progressive. But I digress.) You could say this makes them “relentless.”

You could therefore say the composite is a “relentlessly dangerous anti-American mob.” That is, The Left means to impose the tyranny of their ideology, even if it means using the tyranny of the mob to do it.  Things are going to get uglier before they get better. And as Wisconsin showed us, the Left co-opted the American union movement long ago. You union members – especially the cops – are going to have to decide if you stand with the Leftist mob or with America.

JACK WILEY DITHERS EXCLUSIVE: ERIC HOLDER’S “MY PEOPLE” MEMO

Our  source at the Department of Justice has leaked Attorney General Eric Holder’s  very first official inter-office memorandum to one of our cracker-jack investigative journalists.  This particular confidential source usually feeds us a raging storm of crap, but this memorandum’s content interested us because it seems to have foreshadowed Mr. Holder’s recent testimony on Capitol Hill.

Read the full memorandum and let us know if we should fire our source at Justice for not leaking this to us sooner.

==

Memorandum

FOR INTERNAL DISTRIBUTION ONLY

To: All Department Staff
From: The Honorable Eric H. Holder
Date: January 21, 2009
Subject: Department Priorities Under My Management

Now that one of my people has been inaugurated as President of the United States, and he has appointed one of his people as Attorney General of the United States, this department’s priorities will be different than you people may have been used to under previous administrations.

As we move through the next eight years of our peoples’ glorious reign fundamentally transforming America, the day-to-day priorities for you people should be guided by one simple rule: what is good for Eric’s people.

For example, it has come to my attention the Civil Rights Division is about to convict a couple of my people for bravely defending a Philadelphia polling place from voters that weren’t their people. You people are hereby ordered to end this illegal witch hunt.

In case you think my people are limited to African-Americans, let me ask you one question: why did I start this memo referring to the President as one of my people? Don’t you know that Oreo has a white mother? Let me close the memo with some hypothetical guidelines to further elaborate.

If, for example, the people of any state on the Mexican border should take measures to protect themselves from illegal Democrat voters, the Department will immediately sue those people on behalf of our people.

If our people in the Homosexual lobby should file suit against the Defense of Marriage Act, the Department will not defend this unconstitutional law. (I just want to make clear for the record I’m not really one of those people, just that there’s not anything wrong with that.)

If an off-shore oil rig should mysteriously blow up, this Department will do everything in its power to cooperate with lawyers in the Department of Interior to ensure those people in the oil industry have to stop drilling everywhere our people have jurisdiction.

Now, I realize some of you people who are career lawyers in this Department may have a problem with these guidelines. Anticipating this issue, I’ve already cleared with our people in your union permission to allow you people to play Solitaire and view pornography on your government PCs. Our people don’t need your help.

If there are any questions about this policy, just ask any of my people I’ve appointed as a Department Undersecretary.

Sincerely.

Eric H. Holder
Attorney General of the United States

Stupid or Treasonous? (‘Coming to a Head’ Edition)

As a reader of blogs, I usually find the “remember you read it here first” blogging style off-putting. I find it a bit pretentious, because, really, how can anybody really know given the vast expanse of the Internet? And who would waste his or her time trying to prove it definitively, anyway? Get a life …. pleeeeeze.

However, the architecture for this blog project is nothing if not “pretentious,” soooooo …….

Can anybody out there identify anyone else who was predicting the inevitability of Impeachment proceedings for Barack Hussein Obama before I was, when I posted “Stupid of Treasonous?” on January 4, 2010? There might be something in the archives of the Impeach Obama Campign blog, but I’m unwilling to devote the time to find out.

But I digress.

Back to the point - I’ve noticed lately the ‘I’ word, sometimes a direct call, sometimes a building of evidence for the case, is coming up a lot lately in the blogosphere.

I do believe it is the kerfuffle in Madison, Wisconsin over the state budget shortfall that has brought things to a head. This awesome show of democracy in action, in the American heartland, has brought the Progressive Left out for us examine in its full glory – in the same way a flashlight shown under a sink in a Cabrini Green tenement brings out the cockroaches.

News Real Blog cogently connects events in Madison to the future of the republic itself.

American Power reminds us the Progressive Left’s pathology – and their Achilles Heel – is that everything is politics to them.

Hot Air looks at the poll numbers, sees the Progressive Left losing the public relations battle in Madison, and predicts the Progressive Left will lash out as a result. LibertyAtStake certainly agrees with the prediction. Violent protest is in the Progressive Left’s DNA.

The Impeach Obama Campaign thirds the prediction made by Hot Air and seconded by LAS. It won’t be Global Warming that heats up the republic this summer.

Michelle Malkin is maintaining the documentary record of the Left’s initial build up to fury.

Piece Of Work In Progress assists Ms. Malkin in this valuable service to the republic.

Snark and Boobs hones in on a commonality between the union goons and Islamists – violence toward women.

Big Gov explains why Scott Walker is the perfect antagonist to stare down the union rent-a-mob.

Allied Liberty News gives good advice to Governor Walker – fire the AWOL teachers!

Nice Deb documents what it’s like to try to do business with a gang of hacks who see everything as politics.

Sentry Journal presents how far the Progressive Left is removed from our republic’s founding principles.

Doug Ross lays out the choice before us: nothing less than liberty or tyranny.

Pundit and Pundette explain how and why sticking his nose into Madison's business redounds to Barack Hussein Obama’s ultimate decline.

The Right Wing, Nut! reminds us Barack Hussein Obama is a ‘Missionary Man’ (gratuitous Eurythmics reference), with a willingness to lie about the mission in order to further it. It was this sense of mission for the Progressive cause that drove BHO to make that foolish tactical mistake of inserting himself into the Wisconsin debate immediately after submitting his wholly unserious 2012 federal budget proposal. This showed his disrespect for the constitutional concept of federalism and highlighted his hypocrisy on the budget deficit issue.

Right Wing News asks “what are all the secret meetings about, anyway?”

The Impeach Obama Campaign (IOC) takes notice it is gaining recruits. Hell, even Newt smells blood in the water.

iOwnTheWorld sees nefarious intent behind BHO’s unwillingness to defend the Defense of Marriage Act. LAS agrees.

It’s already ‘case closed’ at the Camp of the Saints.

Mind Numbed Robot makes a strong case for ‘Treason.’ LAS comments that ‘Treason’ doesn’t need to be provable if the pattern of ‘Stupid’ keeps building.

Atlas Shrugs tunes into the ‘Stupid or Treasonous (It’s Beginning To Not Even Matter)’ vibe.

I think you get the point. There is more – much more – that could be added to this post from the patriotic network I call the Bob Schieffer Blog Roll.

The rising call for Impeachment is coming to a head because the Progressive movement, and their current champion – the Empty Suit known as Barack Hussein Obama – are feeling the political heat generated by the great awakening of the American public that is underway. This great awakening produced the TEA Party movement, beginning mere weeks after BHO took office and began to show us his priorities in office. This great awakening is contributing to the rise of the Internet as a source for valuable information, Fox News as a source for fair and balanced news, and the precipitous decline of the criminally biased MSM in the eyes of the public. This great awakening dealt an historically devastating November 2010 election loss to the Empty Suit known as Barack Hussein Obama and the political party his Progressive fellow travelers hijacked long ago. It will deal an even more devastating loss in the November 2012 election to the Donkey Party.

Remember you read it here first. :)

And the pressure applied to the Progressive champion – the Empty Suit known as Barack Hussein Obama – will, I predict, cause him to do desperate things leading to Impeachment articles before we reach November of 2012. He can’t help it – it’s in his Progressive DNA.

Remember you read it here first :)

Contemporary Politics and Newton's Three Laws of Motion (Part 14)

Given the pace at which your current administration’s foreign policy is spinning out of control, and the pace at which your current administration’s domestic policy is becoming increasingly lawless - this was a difficult post to organize in draft. It’s hard to keep up with a high speed train running off the rails.

At first, focusing on your current administration’s incompetent and feckless reaction to events in Egypt, I started down the path of making this post the third in my “Stupid or Treasonous?” series. I even had my sixth grade son prepare the following graphic in preparation.  (Side note: I paid him well below minimum wage for his services.  This could be an opening for Obama's Department of Labor to come after me.  Updates to follow as needed.)

Then my attention was caught by the mounting evidence of your current administration’s total disregard for the United States Constitution. As a result, I briefly considered instead making this post a direct follow up to my August 1, 2010 post (“When Your Government Goes Lawless”) – which examined this administration’s legal war on the government of Arizona.

Then it hit me. It was obvious – both themes are coming to a head simultaneously. It is therefore high time for Part 14 of the Newtonian F=m*a theme.

This administration is by now inarguably a profound mismatch to the nation it purports to govern. And the case for impeaching Barack Hussein Obama now has a strong foundation to build upon. In fact – I, LibertyAtStake – will go on record stating the evidence is already sufficient; all that remains is completing the project to awaken the American people to the threat Barack Hussein Obama presents to our constitutional republic - hopefully before he and his corrupt gang of Progressives wreck the whole damn place beyond any repair.

The “Stupid or Treasonous?” angle was easy to pick up on while international events unfolded recently.  Let’s just take a casual stroll through the Conservative blogosphere.

I imagine if we took a straw poll of the aforementioned contributors, “treasonous” would stand a very good chance of trumping “stupid.”  But – strictly as it relates to foreign policy matters – I am sticking to “stuck on stupid” as the prime explanation for what we are observing.  My prime reason being this:  domestic politics is everything for this corrupt gang, which leads them easily into the appearance of treason overseas.  Plus we’ve seen this act before in a slightly diluted form:

Now, don’t get me wrong – “stuck on stupid” in foreign affairs can have profoundly disastrous consequences for the republic.  It’s too bad the Founding Fathers lacked the foresight to craft a “gross incompetence” clause for impeachment.

The least of our concerns is bad enough – economy crippling rises in energy costs.  Or, looked at through my cracked prism, a return to the Jimmah Cahtah ‘malaise’ energy economy - as documented by LibertyAtStake’s nomination for the Greatest Rock and Roll Band Ever, The Kinks.

Now, let’s turn to the initial bricks in the wall (gratuitous Pink Floyd reference) making the impeachment case against Barack Hussein Obama.  The case should be built on the high crime and misdemeanor of failing to fulfill his oath to defend the Constitution.  There is ample evidence of his total disregard for the Constitution, as a matter of fact.

On the foreign policy front, the breaking story claiming BHO leaked the military secrets of an ally does contribute. But, the main case should be built upon the blatant disregard BHO and the Progressives are showing for co-equal branches of government in domestic policy.

This Daily Caller story, and related comment thread, got my thought process going on this theme.

Another casual stroll through the conservative blogosphere is in order here, just to round out the case for impeachment.

The cronyism, hypocrisy, and blatant disregard for the rule of law is simply breathtaking by now. The Progressive gang is using every part of the federal government it controls to wage an extra-constitutional war on other federal branches, the states, and all the people of the United States.

Wake up people! I would really, really like my kids to live in a country where they can pursue life, liberty, and happiness under a government that understands and respects the concept. How’s that ‘hopenchange’ working out, anyway? Elections have consequences and giving the corrupt Progressive gang until 2012 with an iron grip on the Executive Branch may give them too much time to tear up the Constitution. Luckily for us, the Constitution provides for a remedy between election cycles. It’s called Impeachment, and it is provided for in Article II, Section 4.

“Stupid or Treasonous?” Revisited

My January 4, 2010 post (title: “Stupid or Treasonous”) began with this paragraph:

A number of news stories broke while our President was vacationing in his alleged birth place of Hawaii. The composite has me asking myself a question: “Is this administration full of idiots, or full of traitors?”

That very same post ended with the projection “…the next Congress will have almost no choice but to draft articles of impeachment – whether the executive is dangerously stupid or treasonous, it just won't matter.

==

75 written posts, untold gazillions of posts and articles read, one mid-term election, and eleven months later – and I am left asking myself:  “why did I bother?”  I could have allocated a lot more time to my family, or to doing things much less taxing than managing this blog in my spare time, by just picking the thread back up here and now.

Because as predicted by me – and of course richly supported by the 75 posts in between – the malfeasant foreign policy of this administration is lately “coming home to roost” (as his pastor of twenty years put it at 2:09 of the linked video).   In fact the cavalcade of events lately is enough to make a guy start researching a little something some call the “New World Order.”

No, not these guys - as entertaining as they once were for me and millions of others.

I’m actually talking about this cabal of Leftists, and their fellow travelers.

(Art work by my sixth grade son.  Proud to be raising young conservatives in my household.  Also, thankful he is sophisticated enough to use the trial version of software packages when that is all he needs.)

==

Google “New World Order” and a dizzying array of conspiracy theories appears right before your very eyes.  These include conspirators belonging to ancient  European secret societies, conspirators meeting at your local Mason’s Temple,  working from within the US intelligence bureaucracy, shaping UN resolutions, manipulating Federal Reserve policy, and hatching all manner of globalist schemes – and that’s just this one page.

My own view is that any conspiracy of three or more conspirators (as well as half of those consisting of exactly two) is doomed to reveal itself the moment any of the conspirators is separated out for isolated questioning. Maybe it was the influence of my cop/detective father.

However, I learned something else from observing the operations of my cop/detective father – “follow the money.”  Money trails have a way of tying together like-minded people, allowing us to identify who to single out for isolated questioning about whom.

Using that generationally imparted wisdom - I’m pretty sure the best guy to put under the hot light for interrogation is George Soros.

==

George Soros is one scary dude with one hell of a big pile of cash to spread around, which he has built up using very amoral methods.

Soros has a history of Nazi Sympathy.  He has been quoted as saying his participation on the wrong side of the Holocaust creates no guilty feelings for him, amazingly.  That makes him one reptilian bastard, as far as I'm concerned.

Soros also has a history of using his riches to to crash currencies, so he can play the currency market to further enrich himself.   How very reptilian.  Or clinically narcissistic.   Or nihilist, one might finally conclude - Nihilism being the philosophy the Narcissist would naturally gravitate toward.

The dollar would appear to be his next target.  We can start by taking him at his word, in his recent acceptance speech for the Globalist of the Year Award.  (Is this award, and Soros' acceptance speech, red meat for conspiracy theorists, or what?)

Mr. Soros’ interest in diminishing American geopolitical influence and devaluing the dollar as a currency is shared by dictators and Nihilists around the world.

==

Fellow Nihilist Julian Assange is on a tear dropping information bombs embarrassing to the US (hat tip: Weekly Standard’s Happy Hour Links).    Glenn Beck is following the moneyThe Left is going ape-shit over Beck’s inquiries, which must mean he’s on to something.  Joseph Klein at News Real Blog is doing some good investigative leg work on the Soros-WikiLeaks connection, as well.
Soros has a history of funding left wing media and fund raising organizations, with Mr. John Podesta as one of his chief executives in this empire.  Soros’ latest investment in American media is, in fact, the government-funded National Public Radio.

Soros is also connected to America’s most powerful left wing unionist, Andrew Stern.  This makes Stern America's most powerful Left Wing lobbyist, as evidenced by the White House's open door policy he enjoys.

The other statist dictators depicted are, of course, treating our own Narcissist-In-Chief like a doormat in the high-stakes confidence game known as foreign relations. This game has an awful lot in common with every schoolyard – weakness begets contempt (a concept our NWO wrestling friends could dissertate on quite entertainingly). The interesting question is whether our own Narcissist-In-Chief is “useful idiot” or “willful collaborator” to these supposed NWO operatives.

==

It’s a tough puzzle to pull apart - still, two years into the Presidency of the man who will not release his transcripts or original birth certificate. In other words, the difficult question that bears existentially on the American republic still remains “Is Barack Hussein Obama stupid or treasonous?” I and several other patriots recently debated this very question on the excellent blog known as Legal Insurrection – as we are compelled to ask this question for the umpteenth time during the First Reign of the Empty Suit Who Would Be Emperor – this time related to the WikiLeaks affair.

I’m not sure we’ll ever tease apart this puzzle before the First Reign of the Empty Suit Who Would Be Emperor comes to an end. And I hold to my January 2010 prediction that this Reign is likely to come to a premature end due to impeachment proceedings. These proceedings are likely to be compelled by regulatory overreach on the domestic politics side – see my November 28, 2010 post (title: “Contemporary Politics and Newton’s Three Laws (Part 11)”) for the set up. A full member of the NWO is demanding it.
