So, you’ve stumbled onto my humble little blog. Perhaps you are a Millenial wondering why most of your friends aren’t fully employed. Or wondering why ObamaKare is being shoved down your throat. Or why your generation is on the hook for a national debt that stands at $17 $18 Trillion and counting. Maybe you are scratching your head wondering why your President thinks Global Warming the weather is more worrisome than Islamic Terror. And perhaps you’ve started to become aware there might be something the corrupt and biased lame stream media isn’t telling you. The answer, to these and other existential questions, is ... the Left - specifically, the modern American Progressive. Think of this site as a portal to a richer understanding of this answer, a portal purposely designed with a consciously cock-eyed bent to keep it entertaining. Because the First Amendment is forever and the Internet never forgets. (Plus you better figure out FICA isn't the name of a Swedish bikini model, before she eats your entire paycheck.)

How to use the portal? You could dive into my archive*. I was most active here 2010-2012, but that matters not. How many times do I need to demonstrate the central point? To wit, the political / ideological Left is a menace to the constitutional republic and must be resisted lest the American experiment in liberty devolve into socialist dystopia. If it's the more pointed hand-to-hand combat of the comment board that whets your appetite, click the 'My Disqus Comments' widget. I continue to visit that world from time to time as a light diversion. Or you could browse through my blog roll. It's a very representative collection of center-right blogs, though hardly exhaustive. I can't do the political / ideology thing 24x7, and you probably can't either. Leave that to the hysterical, talking point chanting, mob agitating, race baiting, election stealing, gaia worshiping, straw man torching, Islamic Terrorist appeasing, organized Left (aka OFA, MSNBC, UAW, SEIU, Think Progress, Media Matters, most of legacy media, the politically correct faculty lounge, anybody who belonged to Journolist, anybody connected to Occupy Wall Street, anything funded by George Soros or Tom Steyer, their paid Internet trolls, and the rest of the usual Team Leftie suspects).

4th Quarter 2012 GDP Actually *Contracts*

"Unexpectedly," of course.

Elect a Commie,
Kill Economy

Not just a rhyme. It's a law. A law of politics and economics. And this immutable law is about to be proven again by the economy crushing laws and regulations in Comrade Barry's dystopian pipeline. Only 16 more quarters to go. Oh joy. Looks like President Downgrade is about to graduate to President Double Dip.

“Because Less Gub'ment Means More Liberty”

Update 1/31/13

Mama Morris didn't raise no fool.

Among my Vast Right Wing Conspiracy (VRWC) email subscriptions is Dick Morris. I sometimes find him to be a bit sensationalist for my taste (imagine that), but he really nailed it today.
Now that the economy is officially contracting, it's a good time to look back and list the various Obama policies that are causing it.
The scariest detail:
The current contraction is before the tax increases Obama just passed have hit. These tax hikes on upper income people will take $50 billion of demand out of the economy and his 2 percent increase in the payroll tax will take out over $100 billion more. These tax increases go directly toward cutting demand and employment.
And the conclusion befitting the "people get the government they deserve" theme of my blog:
People ask: How can the Republican Party come back? Because of the impact of Obama’s economic policies which will soon be evident even to the most optimistic and obtuse.

LAS 2012 Retrospective (Part 2)

(Dear reader:  This post has been in draft since January 14 - and that tells you everything you need to know about the state of this blog project.  I have submitted my muse, the AWOL bastard, to be considered for Chris Carter's "Where You At?" ESPN segment.)

Continuing from Part 1 ...

The pace of posting here entered a recessionary period during the month of July. This particular recession was mainly the result of me adjusting to new surroundings - because I and the woman the state of Florida long ago certified as my lifelong mate entered into a difference of opinion over which one of us had gone off the deep end. I can tap eye witnesses if it becomes necessary.

The staff cartoonist picked up some of the July slack with one of his better contributions; a depiction of Chief Justice Roberts' constitutional capitulation on the ObamaCare ruling. When Roberts said a mandate can be ruled a tax so long as .... ah, something ... now I've lost my train of thought ... what were we talking about ...

==

The SS LAS righted itself in time to document Team Leftie's ham-fisted August boycott of the Chick-Fil-A restaurant chain - which ironically turned into a business boom for Chick-Fil-A as legions of normal people (i.e. not Leftists) bought the restaurant's delicious and non-ideological sandwich in counter-protest.

The Right to Eat a Chicken Sandwich In Peace and Quiet

(If this isn't covered by the "right to pursue happiness" then nothing is.)

How did we get to this point? To the point where a friggin' chicken sandwich is at the nexus of an epic ideological battle? I, LibertyAtStake, shall now give you the answer.

The Left.

Later on in August, Dingy Harry Reid (Senate Majority Leader for all three of the last three years the Senate has failed to pass a budget) made a splash here with the bald-faced lie Willard Mitt Romney was a tax cheat. The blogosphere responded with an equally credible information campaign exposing Dingy Harry's taste for sex with young boys and farm animals ...

August was also the month Mittens made his wisest judgment of the entire campaign by taking my recommendation to choose Paul Ryan as his running mate. The opposing campaign, however, failed to accept my advice on the angle of attack they should employ against the squeaky clean Ryan.

And just to make completely clear I walk in political lockstep with no one, I made my position perfectly clear on Todd Akin's bad case of Foot-In-Mouth-Disease. (Note: I am pro-life as a matter of morality.)

August was also the month of the largely irrelevant national party conventions.  The Republicans went first and handled the uncertainty of an approaching hurricane quietly and without incident.   The Democrat convention followed with a typically chaotic performance that included leaving all mention of God and Jerusalem as Israel's capital out of the platform, then voting contentiously and ambiguously to put them back, and finally moving their nominee's speech indoors in the face of a 30% threat of rain and 40,000 empty stadium seats.  I contrasted how the two conventions were managed on September 12 with a post drawing on a "Lemonade Stand Anology".
Well, the two big party conventions have been staged, misreported with extreme bias by the mainstream media, and passed into the history books. Here’s my take …

The republic found out which side can run a lemonade stand … and which side can always be counted on to run a deficit and end up with the table smashed and the lemonade running down the street gutter.
The only thing of interest to arise out of these meaningless conventions was the brief reign of a cultural phenomenon known as 'Eastwooding' - i.e. transferring the personality of the Empty Suit Known as Barack Hussein Obama to an empty chair.

My contribution consisted of the following:

The Most Transparent Administration in History meets to consider the nation's course forward.

Arrayed on the table for our glorious leaders to consider:

(1) The legally passed federal budgets for fiscal years 2010, 2011, and 2012.

(2) The Obama deficit reduction plan.

(3) The Obama tax reform plan.

(4) The Obama entitlements reform plan.

(5) The 'Fast and Furious' documents Obama has shielded with Executive Privilege.

(6) Last month's Obama campaign fund raising haul.
I might have added (7) What the average Obama voter actually knows about Obama.

September was also the eleven year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.  On 09/11/12, I jotted down "Nine Thoughts on the Eleventh Anniversary of 9/11" - the primary being point number 2:  The US Constitution and sharia law are completely and utterly incompatible.

Almost on cue, al-Qaeda affiliated Islamists celebrated the same anniversary by attacking and murdering an American Ambassador, two Navy SEALs, and another State Department employee. Caught completely flat footed, and faced with events putting the lie to their campaign lie that al-Qaeda had already been defeated, Team Obama peddled the preposterous lie that a YouTube trailer with fewer than 200 views for a film even fewer people had actually screened was the cause of these events. To this day, the Islamist murderers remain at large, but ....... the film maker remains incarcerated by Team Obama, because Team Obama apparently prefers sharia law to the First Amendment.

Everything we've learned to date about the cover up of the failures of leadership before, during, and after this attack are summarized by this graphic:

October was the occasion of what I had told the hacks of the Establishment GOP was their only chance to cut through the stacked deck of media bias - the live televised Presidential debate series. Our combatant was the man I had also told the same hacks was the guy who lacked the chops to succeed. Mittens gave it the old college try, even producing what looked like a surge in the polls, but ultimately proved me right on both points.

We all know what happened next - on November 6, the candidate of Taker Nation defeated the candidate of Maker Nation. It was official - 51% of the people had figured out they could use gub'ment to steal the wealth and property of the other 49%. And we all know what happens after that.

In December, on cue, a lunatic in Newtown, Connecticut gave Taker Nation the excuse it needed to mount a manic assault on 2nd Amendment rights. The very same 2nd Amendment designed to keep gub'ment in check when it gains too big an appetite for extorting the wealth and property of its subjects.

And yet my muse does nothing but send me these idiotic postcards from the dark side of the moon. Doesn't the slacker realize the Mideast is about to go up in flames? Doesn't the lazy bastard know we are looking at four more years of a 'new normal' economy with structural unemployment stuck on 8%? Can't he see the Community-Agitator-In-Chief's mad dash toward the socialist dystopia prescribed by him and his ideological mentors Alinsky, Ayers, Cloward, and Piven?

And If The Cloud Bursts...Thunder In You Ear
You Shout And No One Seems To Hear
And If The Band You're In Starts Playing Different Tunes
I'll See You On The Dark Side Of The Moon

Update 1/29/13

Now my muse is just f*cking with me. Last night he sent greetings from south of the border. Cats and Dogs? Really?

Demotivational Inauguration 2013

*Since I made the common dating mistake on my previous post, I can post another inauguration demotivational without duplicating the title.

Was this really necessary last time, Obamabots? Try to behave more like a TEA Party crowd this time around.

Class Warfare Roulette

What was that about making the "rich" pay their "fair share" without hitting the "middle class"? Top rate goes up 2% ... payroll tax for *everybody* from the mail room on up sees 2% rise in payroll tax. And since most of the so-called "rich" earn most of their income in ways not subject to payroll tax ... sounds to me like an across the board 2% increase in the federal take from the GDP. Now *that* is the dictionary definition of "fair"! Equally distributed, that is.

ROTFLMAO!

==

Here's why it went down this way, kiddies. When you are in a headlong rush to "fundamentally transform" your country, and more interested in destroying your political "enemies" than negotiating with them ... attention to detail suffers. And when attention to detail suffers, sh*t happens. Ask Christopher J. Stevens, Tyrone oods, Glen Doherty, Sean Smith, or Brian Terry.

Update 4:30 pm

The well-meaning scholars at The Heritage Foundation, who make a living paying far more attention to detail than I do in these matters, remind me the top marginal rate actually goes up 4.6%. So you Obama voters can be satisfied Richie Rich pitched in twice as much, or something like that. But, wow, look at the entire list of 13 new taxes for 2013. Trust me when I tell you the Redistributionist-In-Chief and Team Leftie are just getting warmed up.

Demotivational Nanny State Pelosi

In case you haven't noticed yet, the Left's appetite for tax and spend is insatiable. Still not satisfied with a "fiscal cliff" "deal" that is all new tax and no spending cut, Nancy Pelosi has fired a shot across the bow of the SS Taxpayer. Not only are new taxes still on her table, but she urges the Saul Alinsky Radical Known as Barack Hussein Obama to create a new constitutional crisis du jour by ignoring Congress when the debt ceiling is reached. And don't doubt that he will ... he's convinced there is no spending problem at all.

==

Look, folks - they couldn't fund their socialistic utopia if they consfiscated every single dollar possessed by every single "rich" person this very minute. The money they need is in the middle - they just haven't told you that yet. I'm talking to you, clueless independents.

LAS 2012 Retrospective (Part 1)

(A kind of rambling stream of consciousness in more or less chronological order, composed while listening to a Pandora Radio station seeded by the following bands: Dandy Warhols, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Black Angels, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Black Keys, and White Stripes)

January 2012 opened with this blog wrapping up its combined 2011 review and 2012 preview, in typically belated fashion (note the date on this post, dear reader). Reviewing these posts now I can see I was giddy with an expectation 2012 might be the year the republic would finally be rid of the Saul Alinsky Radical Known as Barack Hussein Obama. As I embark on this annual review effort I am instead still reeling from the shock of witnessing my republic re-elect this lawless demagogue to a second term, despite an unbroken record of policy failures.

On January 2nd I wrote with foresight greatly exceeding that of your sixty billion dollar State Department - "The current state of affairs is a set up for the rise of an Egyptian Islamic Caliphate." Recent turns of Egyptian events involving the lawless demagogue known as Mohammed Morsi are bringing this prediction to a rapid (in historical terms) fruition. In the same post, I also made the point "For Israel, 2012 will be a year of living at defcon one and a half." And it has been. Still, I expect 2013 will be worse - much worse - for Israel as her enemies on all sides grow stronger due to the absolute collapse of Team Barry's foreign policy. The Benghazi scandal still holds this failure up in sharp relief as no one has really been held accountable for the obvious failures before, during, and after the attack by the Islamists. Certainly not the Islamist attackers. Oh sure, a few low level bureaucrats were given leave with pay in the coverup, and the corrupt lamestream media thinks that will be the end of it. It won't be.

On January 7th I laid out for the establishment GOP why Mittens was the wrong nominee. My warnings were unheeded as everyone knows by now. I also promised in January that 2012 would be the last year for this blog. I'm still sorting out what my muse might be telling me about that promise. The balance between labor and love seems to be shifting in this "labor of love."

January was also the month I introduced a new (to this blog) format that has served me well since then - as a simple device that is simultaneously educational and humorous. Thanks to the good and anonymous (to me) folks at diy.despair.com, this line on the blog's expense sheet stands at $0.00.

My First Demotivational Poster

On January 28 I entered the blogging hall of fame (in my own mind) by posting the proof I personally invented the phrase "the only thing dumber than the average person is a crowd." Replace "crowd" with "electorate" and you can begin to understand why the Saul Alinsky Radical Known as Barack Hussein Obama retains his power.

February highlights here included a pithy handwritten analysis of why gasoline prices have more than doubled under the Obama regime ...

March was the most active month here. There was the great Andrew Breitbart to eulogize, the emergence of pathetico Sandra Fluke to lampoon, and the media lynching of George Zimmerman to chronicle, among various and sundry other events of the day. The campaign of self-declared 1/32nd Cherokee Elizabeth Warren to become Senator Fauxahontas must have been one of them, as I recall this hilarious graphic appearing with great frequency across my blog roll ...

April was the month we discovered the most powerful man on Earth had a long ago acquired taste for dog meat ...

... and also the month I declared reluctant general election fealty to the latest moderate establishment GOP nominee forced down our throats, with a post titled 'We're All Mittens Men Now.' As everyone knows, and I predicted during the primary season, Mittens was but a tasty treat for the Left's Billion Dollar Slime Machine in the end game.

May was the month the Left introduced us all to the contemptibly dependent "Julia" composite they consider to be their model citizen ...

... and also the month our staff cartoonist joined the fray - his first contribution being a very sophisticated statement on the progress of negotiations with Iran concerning nuclear arms proliferation.

Also in May, I set up the framework for how to interpret the general election of 2012 with a post titled 'How Stupid *is* My Republic?'
LAS likes how Limbaugh is explaining Barry's erratic, hyperbolic, and cynical statements of late. It is an open electoral appeal to the truly ignorant and dumb. So, that's it then ... 2012 will demonstrate just how dumb my republic has finally become. Dumb enough to re-elect a failed demagogue? We shall see.
With the complicity of the corrupt and biased lamestream media, we found out the answer - yes, dumb enough to re-elect a failed demagogue.

The crescendo moment for the 2012 edition of DC ass clown kabuki came in June, as far as I'm concerned. That is when Chief Justice of the Supreme Court John Roberts correctly decided individual mandates are unconstitutional, apparently ingested two large mushrooms, and then psychedelically declared a requirement for all individuals to purchase a specific product under penalty of law does not meet the definition of 'mandate.'
I woke up this morning still spittin' mad over this absurd clown circus.

Q: When is a mandate a tax?

A: When the President repeatedly says it isn't to get it through the Senate, the three thousand page bill no one reads uses the 'm' word, and a single judge bends himself into pseudo-intellectual pretzels to miraculously transform it.

DC has become a dangerously ridiculous parody of governance. Or, perhaps, the final proof of the immutable truth transmitted by my favorite all time political quote: "In a democracy, the people get the government they deserve."
==

And it was all downhill from there for my republic, as we shall see in Part 2.

Update 1/8/13

A foresighted forecast from my February 27, 2012 post. I don't know if I should pat myself on the back for being smart, or kick myself in the a$$ for going into the tank for Mittens and his campaign team (Larry, Moe, and Curly) during the general.
According to some exit polling [from the GOP primaries], Mittens is garnering a majority of the vote for people who stipulate they are looking for the candidate most likely to defeat Obama. As with so many “majorities,” this one is dead wrong. All I can figure is they are going for the Gary Cooperish matinee idol looks. Newsflash – Obama already has this angle covered – only updated – metrosexual and half-black for [the] modern voter.

As I’ve explained, and will continue to explain until it sinks in, Romney is the opponent Obama wants. Romney lacks the chops to score a knock-out punch on the all-important one-on-one debate stage, and Romney is the Richie Rich villain to cast as the target of Team Leftie’s rotten class warfare message.
