I will now explain, by repeating my comment to the source article, with a tiny little edit.
This "flag" is the perfect symbol for the modern Democrat / Progressive... because they seek to replace the original federalist balance between the states and national gub'ment with a centralized, nationalized, fascistic, god-state headed by an iconic cult of personality figurehead. It's just who they are.

This is entirely symbolic of where America's Left is in the year 2012 ... hell bent on bringing the state into every corner of your life, however trivial, and increasingly becoming indistinguishable in form, content, and style from those other wildly successful [/snark] god-states run by those lovable [/snark] cults of personality such as Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, Mao-Tse Tung, and Kim Il Jong.
