Life has been turned upside down in the Metro DC area – what with 2 feet of snow on the ground, more apparently on the way, and widespread power outages generally caused by trees falling from the weight of the unprecedented snow fall. I have considered investing in a generator to keep the lights on, a snow blower to get out the front door, and maybe a snow mobile to get to the grocery store. Any more of this Global Warming and I could go broke.
Speaking of going broke, I have extended by one week the 2010 Special Election for Commander-in-Chief poll; which pits The Decider (2008 budget deficit $0.5 Trillion) against The Speechifier (2009 budget deficit $1.3 Trillion, projected 2010 budget deficit $1.6 Trillion). As of this writing, only 13 votes cast. I do know, however, there are more of you visiting my humble little blog. I have seen the pathetic phishing attacks from Looney Left front groups, and this can only mean we are getting under their skin. You can help further annoy them – to the general benefit of the republic – by pumping up the numbers on my humble little meaningless poll.

Now to the point of this posting - I would also like to extend to The Who my appreciation not only for a fantastic Super Bowl halftime show; but also for accepting my recommendation to close the show with “Won’t Get Fooled Again.”
I have chosen to reprint the complete lyrics here as a small meditation on the hopelessly failed Obama experiment. The chorus – which I’ve bolded – is for us conservatives and independents. The last two lines – also bolded – are for Looney Lefties disappointed in the inability of the messiah Obama to push forward most of their insane agenda. You can read the blog text or follow along with the embedded YouTube video from someone who likes to be called u8Lard.
We'll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that they worship will be gone
And the men who spurred us on
Sit in judgment of all wrong
They decide and the shotgun sings the song
I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
The change, it had to come
We knew it all along
We were liberated from the foe, that’s all
And the world looks just the same
And history ain’t changed
'Cause the banners, they were all
flown in the last war
I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
I'll move myself and my family aside
If we happen to be left half alive
I'll get all my papers and smile at the sky
For I know that the hypnotized never lie
Do ya?
There's nothing in the street
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Is now parting on the right
And the beards have all grown
Longer over night
I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss
