So, you’ve stumbled onto my humble little blog. Perhaps you are a Millenial wondering why most of your friends aren’t fully employed. Or wondering why ObamaKare is being shoved down your throat. Or why your generation is on the hook for a national debt that stands at $17 $18 Trillion and counting. Maybe you are scratching your head wondering why your President thinks Global Warming the weather is more worrisome than Islamic Terror. And perhaps you’ve started to become aware there might be something the corrupt and biased lame stream media isn’t telling you. The answer, to these and other existential questions, is ... the Left - specifically, the modern American Progressive. Think of this site as a portal to a richer understanding of this answer, a portal purposely designed with a consciously cock-eyed bent to keep it entertaining. Because the First Amendment is forever and the Internet never forgets. (Plus you better figure out FICA isn't the name of a Swedish bikini model, before she eats your entire paycheck.)

How to use the portal? You could dive into my archive*. I was most active here 2010-2012, but that matters not. How many times do I need to demonstrate the central point? To wit, the political / ideological Left is a menace to the constitutional republic and must be resisted lest the American experiment in liberty devolve into socialist dystopia. If it's the more pointed hand-to-hand combat of the comment board that whets your appetite, click the 'My Disqus Comments' widget. I continue to visit that world from time to time as a light diversion. Or you could browse through my blog roll. It's a very representative collection of center-right blogs, though hardly exhaustive. I can't do the political / ideology thing 24x7, and you probably can't either. Leave that to the hysterical, talking point chanting, mob agitating, race baiting, election stealing, gaia worshiping, straw man torching, Islamic Terrorist appeasing, organized Left (aka OFA, MSNBC, UAW, SEIU, Think Progress, Media Matters, most of legacy media, the politically correct faculty lounge, anybody who belonged to Journolist, anybody connected to Occupy Wall Street, anything funded by George Soros or Tom Steyer, their paid Internet trolls, and the rest of the usual Team Leftie suspects).

An Open Letter to Chief Justice John Roberts

A ‘tax’ is a levy on voluntary activity. An involuntary directive to do something under penalty of law is a mandate, plain and simple. By your twisted logic a military draft is no draft, it is an 'invitation to serve.' The fact that it is mandatory can be glossed over, right? You just said so. You are an intellectual coward.

You have become the poster child for a much needed constitutional amendment - "Article III, Section 1 shall be amended to limit judicial appointments to two consecutive seven year terms. The second term must be re-nominated by the sitting President and re-confirmed by the sitting Senate."

This amendment is sorely needed since 'Justice' has obviously become a synonym for 'just another kind of politician.'

I guess this is one way of handling your being W_R_O_N_G in your predictions.

Given how absolutely, without a doubt, positively guaranteed your Supreme Court was going to beat-up that 'uppity-one-in-chief' and overturn the ACA; is it safe your predictions were taken out of context?

The people's Congress passed the ACA. The President of USA has signed the ACA bill into law. The Supreme Court has declared the ACA constitutional. So when are you going to admit you were wrong and USA has not come to an end?

NObama NOvember only 131 days away. This contorted decision makes the central point of the 2012 election same as 2010. Remember how that went down?

Ema, let us reason together, or at least try to:
How do you think our already slow economy is going to be, considering many businesses will be required to pay a $2,000 tax on each employee it has. They will pay this tax because it's cheaper than providing health insurance for the employees.
From whom do you think companies will recoup that money? (Recoup means to get back) From the consumer, so you can count on increased costs across the board for everything from groceries to shoes. That will further damage the economy
Do you think Roberts' ruling opens the door for more capricious taxation by the government (capricious means "on a whim"). Do you think this could lead to more tax abuse?
Do you think it's the government's job to interfere in private industry?
Are you simply looking at the word "free", and not thinking of anything else?
Nothing is free - nothing. We are paying for Obamacare, not only in dollars, but in lost freedoms, and with the unprecedented circumstance of being taxed for doing nothing.
America came to an end a long time ago, when government began interfering where it had no business, namely in private industry.
Think about this - even you can understand this one - health insurance premiums would be quite affordable for all if there were not dozens and dozens of government mandates that have jacked up the costs over the last 30 years. The ability to buy insurance across state lines would also make it much more affordable. Tax credits would make it more affordable still.
YOU are wrong. The USA has come to an end. The government is far overreaching, getting involved in private industry, and private lives, where it has no business.
I apologize, this great comment was automatically thrown into the moderation queue and it took me a day or two to get to it.

As far as Ema is concerned ... if you try to reason with her you will be disappointed ... The Age of Reason never occurred for her type ... she is hopelessly shackled to the Progressive dogma. But the repartee can be fun, if you want it.

Guest,

“... let us reason together ...”

“The government is far overreaching, getting involved in private industry, and private lives, where it has no business.”

“Do you think it's the government's job to interfere in private industry?”

Government exists in any and all activities that involve more than one person; two or more people get together you have government. Interactions of people are governed by mutually agreed upon civil, social, and legal customs, traditions, rules, regulations, and/or laws. The greater the number of people, the more complex civil and social customs, traditions, rules, regulations, and/or laws become.

Industry/business, (private, public and/or government) functions within the confines of the society within which it operates. Industries/businesses must work within the civil, social, and legal customs, traditions, rules, regulations, and/or laws.

One of the duties of governments is to assure that industry/business operate properly and safely within established customs, traditions, rules, regulations, and/or laws. This is called ‘law and order’; its purpose is to assure for the open, regulated, and safe environment for business activities within modern civil society. The economy will take care of itself as long as industry/business work within the law and order of society’s established customs, traditions, rules, regulations, and/or laws.

The USA representative form of government is of the people, by the people, and for the people. We the people decide/establish customs, traditions, rules, regulations, and/or laws for ourselves, companies, businesses, industry, and government within USA.

The people’s government of USA, as represented by the federal Congress, passed the ACA. The people's President of USA signed the ACA bill into law. The people's Supreme Court of USA declared the ACA constitutional. The people's government will govern and implement the ACA. Like the other positive and popular Social Security program, Medicare/Medicaid programs, and now ACA - we the people are witnessing representative government of the people, by the people, and for the people in all its non-elitist, non- royalist glory.

“We are paying for Obamacare, not only in dollars, but in lost freedoms, ...”

One of the purposes of all government is to protect the people. Having a safety net under the high-flying trapeze artist does not prevent the artist from being any better or worse than the individual wants to be. It does not constrict a person’s sense of freedom, either.

Unusually cogent, Ema. You left out the 114th session of Congress and the 45th President (Mittens - ack) are as likely to repeal and replace the jobs killing monstrosity you call 'ACA' as it was for the country to fall at the feet of an Empty Suit in 2008. Game on.
Great point about the difference between a mandate and a tax.

Yeah, that's me, always deluding myself that words actually have meaning in this town. DC needs a thorough housecleaning in November. 'Shellacking II' can't come soon enough.
John Roberts sold out. The question is why? He actually rewrote the bill, declaring Obamacare's "penalty" is a tax, and therefore Constituionally authorized. He legislated from the bench. The judiciary are not supposed to legislate - legislators make the laws. Roberts overreached his position as a judge, and erred on top of it. Obama and his minions swore up and down the "penalty" was not a tax. Since they claim it was not a tax, how can it now be deemed a tax, since taxation must originate from Congress?
There is no silver lining in this - none. Roberts sold out, plain and simple.

My guess is Roberts falsely believes pleasing the elitist liberal ruling class holds the key to his being held in high esteem by history. He's wrong. He's still relatively young and will live to see their complete collapse as the Conservative Ascendancy inexorably rises.
