In Florida, people lay hoses on their roofs to convert the radiant energy absorbed by their roofs to heat their pool water. There are many low cost solar water heating kits out there which actually make sense.Jethronoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6940640620729368774.post-71190577634463861812011-02-03T20:21:06.916-05:002011-02-03T20:21:06.916-05:00@Jethro: I didn't know about the white roof t...@Jethro: I didn't know about the white roof thing. That's rich. Almost worth doing the math, for a belly-laugh, to calculate the infinitesimal percentage of the Earth's surface that would actually cover. Maybe phase 2 of the plan would cover all the oceans with floating barges painted white.LibertyAtStakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02352456337421726385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6940640620729368774.post-7603372364154871782011-02-03T19:00:18.299-05:002011-02-03T19:00:18.299-05:00BHO - AKA: "the littlest organizer"

Assuming there is a need to "fight" climate change, the energy expended (and emissions released) to manufacture the materials to cover all the roofs in the USA would most probably erase any benefit from the change of the reflectance.Jethronoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6940640620729368774.post-53060565854095859292011-02-03T09:34:22.338-05:002011-02-03T09:34:22.338-05:00@Matt: I find DOE rank and file to be useless, not...@Matt: I find DOE rank and file to be useless, not intentionally treasonous. They visualized solar panels and electric cars and didn't do the math. Then they were lead over the cliff by a small cadre of eco-freak propagandists such as BHO and the Nobel Prize winning physicist Steven F.
